Lemon Sorbet

So I told you I would post some recipes here!

I am a girl who is all about simplicity! When I saw that Kitchenaid had an ice cream maker, freezing bowl attachment to their big mixers I knew I needed one.

I am OBSESSED with lemon. Seriously. It’s in almost all my bio’s. I found this super easy lemon sorbet recipe and I just thought I would share in all it’s yumminess. If you like sweet and tangy, this is for you!!

*Please keep in mind that this is for a kitchaid mixer! I am sure there are similar recipes for a regular ice cream machine but I am not sure of any differences. Please make sure you follow your freezing bowls directions!     (make sure its been frozen for the correct amount of time!)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice (or lemon AND lime!!)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon zest
  • Lemon Sorbet_1426

Directions:

  • In a small sauce pan, bring water and sugar to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool.
  • Combine the syrup with the lemon (and/or lime) juice and the zest. (I add a little extra zest because I like the zing)
  • Put mixture in fridge for 15 minutes or until chilled.
  • Pour chilled liquid into your frozen mixing bowl and blend on low. Please read your kitchenaid mixers handbook for timing on how long to mix. (I didn’t keep track of time, I just  mixed until it was a frozen-sorbet-consistancy. lol.)
  • Transfer to an air-tight container and freeze.
  • Enjoy!!!
