Our trip to Boston

At the beginning of this month my little family and I decided to take a long weekend to one of our favorite cities. Boston. We originally were supposed to take the trip wth friends, but work schedules happened and they were not able to make it. While we were sad, we also were embracing the time with just us three.

We packed up and headed out for Eloise’s first plane ride. It was a 6:00 am flight so we were a bit nervous that she might cry and there would be some grumpy folks. Thankfully, it could NOT have gone better. She fell asleep during takeoff and slept all but maybe 15 min of the flight! We landed in Boston and got our rental car and headed out to the little fishing town called Hull.

Hull is the first trip Matthew and I took together years ago. SO it has a lot of meaning to us. The house we stayed in is a family members summer home and they graciously let us stay there for a few days. The house is right on the water. You can see the city across the way. It’s simply beautiful. Nice and quiet with the prettiest views.

The first day there we just wanted to relax. We had had a couple busy weeks( months?) and just wanted to do nothing. We hung around the house and went into town for food. The town just ended it’s summer season so everything was nice and peaceful.

The second day we headed into the city. We decided to take the ferry over. It was Eloise’s first ferry ride! (Though she wouldn’t know, we were inside the boat.) Once we got to Boston we started our day with the Aquarium. It’s one of our favorite aquariums! I just LOVE the seals and sea lions! Then we headed out for lunch where I met up with a couple ladies I have met on facebook on an “October-moms” group. They each had their little guy with them and it was so much fun. I am sure the waitress hated out table. With three 10 month olds throwing toys, food, and all fake coughing. Us moms had a blast! It’s amazing how the internet can bring people together!

After lunch Matthew, Eloise and I did a little touring of the city. We hit all the big sites!! We did some window shopping at Quincy hall, headed over to Italian village and got some yummies at Mikes Pastry, and then just walked the city some more before we boarded our ferry back up and went back to Hull.

Our last day there we got in the car and headed back to the city. We met up with our amazing host Bryan. Bryan took us to the Arts District where every Saturday they have art vendors and food trucks! We got some food and did some shopping. It was a lot of fun. They open up all the art studios and people can just walk in and out of them. So much good stuff to look at! We then met up with Bryans daughter, her husband, and their daughter for dinner. We had some yummy food and started walking back to Bryans place. Bryan took us the long way so we could do a little more site-seeing. He knows EVERYTHING about the city! All it’s history. It was so fun learning about all the buildings and history of the villages. We said our goodbyes and headed back home.

We had another early flight. Eloise was awake for the whole thing and was as happy as can be! She’s an official professional traveler.

All in all it was a wonderful trip. We spent some MUCH needed time relaxing as a family.

As usual, I didn’t take a whole lot of photos on my camera. Mostly my phone. I was just enjoying the time spent there. But what I did take I will share with you now! I threw in some phone photos too!
